Cancer Rehabilitation Implementation System™

A certification program built on a proven clinical model, followed by ongoing support – structured mentoring for the questions that surface between cases, and face to face options for immersive clinical experience.

The clinical case for PBMT

Side effects of cancer treatment can be effectively minimised and managed by delivering PBMT. Targeting pain, inflammation, and lymphoedema symptoms.

Who it's for

Cancer centres delivering supportive cancer care, Cancer rehabilitation & Lymphoedema specialists, and Existing PBMT centres adding a cancer rehabilitation service.

What's assumed

Working knowledge of the lymphatic system and MLD massage techniques. This is not a Lymphoedema course – anatomy and MLD massage are touched on where they intersect with laser application. This is a PBMT course.

Certification across five clinical modules.

Every module pairs e-learning with a practical skills demonstration, so what you learn is assessed against real technique rather than knowledge alone.

  • ✓ Fully online, self-paced
  • ✓ Up to 3 months to complete
  • ✓ Certificate on each module
  • ✓ Face-to-face or video assessment
  • ✓ Built by an expert practitioner

Introduction to PBMT

The foundation of the OncoLaser pathway, and the grounding every clinical module that follows depends on. Establishes what photobiomodulation therapy is, why it works, and how to apply it safely — from cellular mechanism through evidence to treatment parameters.

Already using the PMBT in practice? You can start at Module 2.

  • ✓ How PBMT works at a cellular level, and what distinguishes MLS Laser technology
  • ✓ The evidence underpinning photobiomodulation in clinical practice
  • ✓ Treatment parameters and how to select them
  • ✓ Safe application, contraindications, and precautions

Explain the mechanism and evidence for PBMT to patients and referrers, select appropriate treatment parameters, and apply the MLS Laser safely across the clinical areas covered in the modules ahead.

Application of PBMT in the management of Lymphoedema

A practical guide to assessing and treating lymphoedema using the MLS Laser alongside manual lymphatic drainage — combining a range modalities into a sequence you can repeat reliably across a caseload.

Assumes working knowledge of the lymphatic system and MLD massage techniques.

  • ✓ The lymphatic system and the impact of cancer treatments, framed for laser application
  • ✓Assessment techniques for lymphoedema presentations
  • ✓Treatment protocols using the MLS Laser
  • ✓How MLD and laser work together, with technique demonstrated in combination
  • ✓ Building a combined approach that delivers effective outcomes

Assess a lymphoedema presentation, build an appropriate treatment plan, and deliver a combined laser and MLD approach with consistency.

Application of PBMT in Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

Focused application of PBMT across the full arc of breast cancer rehabilitation, centred on the mechanism that drives much of the downstream burden of cancer treatment side effects, including: post operative healing || reducing ARD || reducing radiation fibrosis || reducing the development of breast cancer related lymphoedema (BCRL)

  • ✓The side effects of breast cancer treatment, including lymphoedema and the wider range of presentations
  • ✓How PBMT can minimise radiation fibrosis, and how that reduces lymphoedema symptoms
  • ✓Supporting post-surgical recovery
  • ✓Scar and cording management
  • ✓Restoring range of movement
  • ✓Combining PBMT with MLD and other modalities to increase their effectiveness

Apply PBMT across each stage of breast cancer rehabilitation, target radiation fibrosis to reduce symptom burden, and integrate laser with your existing modalities for better patient outcomes.

Applying PBMT in Head and Neck Cancer Rehabilitation

Specialised management of head and neck cancer treatment side effects – one of the most complex areas of cancer rehabilitation.

  • ✓The side effects of head and neck cancer treatment, including lymphoedema and the wider symptom presentations
  • ✓How HNC treatment side effects differ from other cancer related lymphoedema symptoms
  • ✓ How PBMT can reduce radiation fibrosis
  • ✓ Assessment approaches to HNC rehab
  • ✓ Combining PBMT with other modalities to reduce swelling, tissue softness, and restore comfort

Address and treat head and neck presentations with a combined approach tailored to the anatomy and complexity of the region, using PBMT to address the side effects and improve the effectiveness of other modalities.

The Practice Model — Establishing and Operating a PBMT Clinic

This comprehensive module turns the clinical capability into a working service. Delivers a complete commercial system required to operate a successful cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema clinic. Includes ready-to use templates to develop clinic procedures, policies and practices.

  • ✓Practice setup and integrating the laser into the business
  • ✓Appointment and billing structures
  • ✓Treatment frequency and sequencing
  • ✓Policies and procedures
  • ✓Triage methodology
  • ✓Marketing
  • ✓The GP / specialist referral and education playbook

Establish or restructure a cancer rehabilitation and lymphoedema service, with the systems, pricing, and referral pathways to make it successful.
